Karla Munguia Colmenero


Karla is a wildlife Camerawoman, Journalist and Presenter from Mexico, recently returned from 3 years in South Africa. Her work behind camera includes the Animal Planet Series 'Shamwari: A Wild Life', aired in Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and USA. Her camerawork also includes a series currently showing on NatGeo in Australia and other countries, called 'Wild and Woolly', the story of a baby elephant and his best friend, a sheep!

Karla is also an enthusiastic Presenter, who came second place at the first ever 'Wildscreen's Got Talent' competition in 2010, and is fluent in both Spanish and English.

She is a level 5 SSI Scuba Diver including Night Limited Visibility Specialty.

Her latest project, an independent film made for sharing on the internet, called A Zoo Next Door, tells the story of a man keeping big cats in the back of his house and her journey to find international help to relocate the 'zoo' animals.

Karla is keen to increase her wildlife film making experiences and so would be very happy to be an Assistant on any interesting projects too!
