If you asked my friends and family to describe me, the first thing they would say is Dom is obsessed with animals. Since a young age I have had a fascination with the Natural World, and as I have grown older capturing it has become my passion, and hopefully one day my vocation!
I've been lucky enough to travel extensively, and this has truly inspired me and my work. In Asia I have lived in the mountains of Nepal and worked with tigers in Thailand. In Africa I have worked to conserve lion populations in Zambia and trekked to see the Mountain Gorillas in Uganda. These experiences and the people I have met along the way have been truly amazing, and have given me a great insight in to different cultures and ways of life which I have tried to translate in my photos.
I'm also facinated by the abundance of wildlife at home in the UK, right on my own doorstep. During my time working as a Ghillie in the Outer Hebrides was a great chance to capture the last remaing bits of wild space we have left n the UK and a chance to come close to some amazing British Wildlife.
For the past year I have been volunteering at The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust's Martin Mere Centre in Lancashire. As well as being home a large collection of foreign and native water birds, Martin Mere also attracts thousands of migrating species throughout the year and is ever changing with the seasons. Its my job to capture footage of both residents and visitors for their Wildlife Weekly Episodes and bring a taste of what's happening in the natural world, and how you can see it. www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLo1mTRHuYcz19dAwy9e-74wDVxM_HDiW9
Next on my adventures is a 6 month trip around Asia before heading to New Zealand to live and work. Along the way I will be updating this site with pictures and videos, and I'm hoping to capture some spectacular sights!
