The Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA) is an independent campaigning organisation committed to bringing about change that protects the natural world from environmental crime and abuse.

EIA produces hard-hitting campaign films on a wide range of environmental crimes, as well as bespoke training films for enforcement agencies.

It also has one of the world's largest archives of footage devoted to the illegal trade in wildlife products and other environmentally damaging commodities. The collection is data-based and is available on a professional basis to journalists, publishers and programme-makers. All the funds raised from the sale of this archive help to fund future campaigns. The visual media you see on the website is indicative of what is available in the whole collection.

As concerns the wildlife film genre, strangely we have not done any! It is a mystery, but given our extensive experience in Africa, it would be very easy for us to handle the logistics of such projects, which is why I thought that Wildlife-Film.com might be good for us... We have, of course, for many of our Africa projects, tracked and filmed wild animals, and have a good idea of the difficulties involved... but we have never worked on a project dedicated strictly to the “Wildlife” theme... Yet!

Established in 2001, Hairy Frog Productions is an independent wildlife production and educational company. It has an extensive Stills Image Library featuring a comprehensive selection of wildlife images and also a huge and varied range of flora, fauna, people and beautiful scenics from around the world. They have approximately 45,000 slides and 75,000 digital images and are growing daily.

Richard Brock worked in the BBC Natural History Unit for 35 years producing, among others, the highly successful Life on Earth and Living Planet series. Concerned by the lack of willingness to address the real current state of the environment he left the BBC and started his own independent production company Living Planet Productions.

"These days it's simply not good enough to use the old response... "If people know about it they'll care for it and do something". Wrong. They'll just go on being conned that it's all perfect out there, with endless jungles, immaculate Masai Maras, and untouched oceans. What planet are they on about?"

Richard Brock and Living Planet Productions have made over 100 films on a wide range of environmental topics, shown all over the world. As his archive of films and footage mounted up, Richard felt that there was something more, better, that could be done with this resource.

"When you consider the miles of footage and thousands of programs sitting in vaults out there unused, it seems tragic that the very wonders they celebrate are dwindling, often because no one tells the locals and tries to help. That is why I believe its Payback Time for the wildlife television."

Richard went on to set up the Brock Initiative so that he could try to make a difference, and today Living Planet Productions and the Brock Initiative strive to do just that, together!

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds is a conservation organisation with over one million members. Producers of wildlife films since 1953, the RSPB Film Unit continues to create blue-chip wildlife and conservation programming today for event presentation, broadcast, DVD sales, online distribution and clips sales. Our aim is to showcase the RSPB’s most important conservation work and to capture the spectacle of the natural world with award-winning clarity- achieved by a commitment to the principles of ethical wildlife filmmaking.
